PHILANTHROPY – Love of Human Kind

 

Philanthropy is all about relationships, which flows from fundraising and it’s not really about money, rather necessary work for the needs to be dealt with. We need to look at the big picture, to grow and develop. Modern fundraising is promotion and protection.

 

There is a myth out there from the traditionalist that if you spend less funds on overheads, rather include it in the program itself, all your problems will be resolved. That is a nice idea in principal, but in practice and results with statistics have shown and proven that if a charity does not invest any funds in overheads, the fundings will decrease and stop eventually. Loyal donors will stop giving at some stage, due to their ageing reality and new donors won’t be acquired with the ever-changing time and technology. The old saying ‘you’ve got to spend money to make money is ever so true.
